Industrial design of a social robot

To research the impact of social robots in context of a PhD dissertation,
we designed a social robot for elderly stakeholders. To give the robot a familiar styling we chose to design a retro radio as a social robot. We explored styling, prototype methods (woodworking, textile, thermoforming) and integration of electronics in our robot.
Jules is a social robot who helps elderly people who live alone. He remembers
appointments, medication and can even call the doctor. Jules is able to show some basic emotions using his eyebrows.
