During my master years, Hellen De Coninck and me founded Naturane. The core of our company was producing biodigesters that could be used at campsites. As traditionally, a lot of organic waste is generated on campsites. In our biodigesters the organic waste is anaerobically fermented and 2 flows arise: biogas and slurry. The biogas is used for cooking at the campsite. The slurry is used as a compost.

The idea originated from our cybernetics course and was developed further during our master years. We were finalists in the “DO! Goes USA” competition from Durf Ondernemen. This trajectory helped us develop our business idea further and als gave us the opportunity to learn from the best and develop our own entrepreneurial skills. Although we decided not to proceed with Naturane after our studies, we learned so much during this trajectory.
